A Thompson Princess | Adoption

The Thompson’s officially added another member to their tribe this week. And, it’s a GIRL. This little girl doesn’t know how lucky she is to have such sweet and loving parents, and I’m pretty sure her new brothers are going to fight off every boy that comes near her for years and years to come.

Lauren and Ted just recently adopted Kaiden into their family, and on the same day that adoption was finalized, they got the call about Tenley. She is the perfect fit for their family, and no doubt loved by all of their extended family and friends.

Congratulations on your sweet little girl, Thompsons! I can’t wait to photograph your family pictures this fall!

Mr & Mrs McDonald | Married

Malauri and Chance are married! This sweet couple tied the knot at a beautiful venue outside of Hattiesburg, Mississippi. With a hurricane brewing and taking aim at Florida, the love bugs were in abundance on their special day and the massive heat and humidity that we had been having gave us a break and it was a beautiful day! No humidity is just what the bride asked for, and God blessed her with a comfortable day!

Seeing Malauri walking down the isle with her daddy brought back many memories for me. I’ve watched her grow up since she was born and seeing the beautiful young lady that she is walking to her groom was such a sweet moment!

Congrats to the happy couple! Wishing you a lifetime of wedding bliss!

Demi Lee | Fresh 48

A photographer is sometimes asked to be present in the most precious events in people’s lives. From engagements to weddings, and from birth through all the baby’s milestones — our job is to capture moments for people to treasure for a lifetime. And last Friday, I was able to capture the most precious event in a couple’s lives — the birth of their first child. I’ll be leaving the birth pictures for them to share as a family, if they decide to do so. But, let me tell you, it was an incredible experience. And I’m so happy I was able to be there for them. The pictures are breathtaking!

The following day I came back to the hospital for the baby’s Fresh 48 session. She was so sweet and snuggly, and was the perfect subject for me to photograph. OH, and mom and dad were looking amazing just 24 hours after this sweetness came in the world.

Showering Baby Demi Lee | Event

Capturing memories for people is why I am a photographer. You can never have enough pictures, and I’m always so excited to help capture the here and now for people to remember later.

A few weeks ago I was asked to photograph a special little baby shower for a sweet princess to be! When I say it was the perfect shower, it was. I’m so happy I could be a part of their day.

Amanda is a professional ballerina. I mean, Demi Lee has no idea how cool her mommy is, but I’m sure she will find out soon enough! And when I think of a ballerina, I think of a soft, graceful dancer. And today’s shower was just that, soft and graceful!

Mr & Mrs Morland | Wedding

Madelyn and Bobby Ray’s wedding might go down in history as the hottest wedding in April, ever. Hottest as in temperature and in chemistry. This was the first time I had met this couple in person, and their love for each other and for their family was a beautiful sight to behold!

I think everyone was happy the nasty weather that was headed that way held off till the next day. Thankfully the crazy wind kept us a bit cooled off throughout the afternoon and evening.

Despite the heat and wind, everything was gorgeous! The location, flowers, music, and the sweetest words spoken at their wedding made their day perfect! Both the bride and the groom’s dads about had me in tears several times!

Congratulations to Madelyn and Bobby Ray! I wish you and your family a lifetime of love and happiness!

Darcie | Prom

Let me start off by saying this: Prom is not what it used to be in the 90s. And I’m not just talking about the clothes. Today, prom is glamorous.

I had the pleasure of photographing Darcie and her date, Blake, before their high school prom. When she got out of the vehicle in this stunning dress, I knew we were going to have a lot of fun. Most of the photos were taken downtown, and then at a local park.

Thanks again to Kim for asking me to photograph this special chapter in Darcie’s life! I loved every minute of it!!

Home Grown Bloggers | Event

The last weekend of September, y’all, was a busy one. Earlier that week a sister photographer messaged me that something had come up and would keep her from shooting an event. I had a family session that morning, but told her I could fill in afterwards.

I arrived at the Home Grown Bloggers event at Morgan Creek Vineyards mid morning to find a room full of beautiful, eager to learn bloggers engaged with each other during one of their sessions.

Heather and Kirsten are the brains behind Home Grown Bloggers. I had met Heather at another blogging event, but this was my first time to meet Kirsten. Y’all, these ladies are the definition of passionate when it comes to blogging and teaching. They are successful bloggers who are wanting other bloggers to succeed, and that’s exactly what this event was all about.

The open forum sessions had everyone engaging in the topics. The ladies were soaking up every bit of knowledge from the speakers.

Before lunch, the ladies all got together to have some confetti fun! The sweet folks at The Confetti Bar sent everyone packs of confetti and it made for a fun picture!

Lunch was provided by Eugene’s Hot Chicken. Heads up Birmingham, it’s here, and it’s SO GOOD!

So many sponsors helped make the #HGBham event happen. Everyone left with some amazing SWAG!
