A Thompson Princess | Adoption

The Thompson’s officially added another member to their tribe this week. And, it’s a GIRL. This little girl doesn’t know how lucky she is to have such sweet and loving parents, and I’m pretty sure her new brothers are going to fight off every boy that comes near her for years and years to come.

Lauren and Ted just recently adopted Kaiden into their family, and on the same day that adoption was finalized, they got the call about Tenley. She is the perfect fit for their family, and no doubt loved by all of their extended family and friends.

Congratulations on your sweet little girl, Thompsons! I can’t wait to photograph your family pictures this fall!

Demi Lee’s Nursery Reveal |Baby

It’s hard to believe that two short weeks ago, Demi Lee entered the world. I had the pleasure of photographing her birth and her Fresh 48 session. And yesterday, we spent the morning photographing some new memories for mommy and daddy — her nursery reveal!

Demi’s mommy is a ballerina. So it was only fitting that her room be full of soft pinks and ballet things. Amanda did an incredible job putting together such a sweet nursery for her baby girl.

Demi Lee | Fresh 48

A photographer is sometimes asked to be present in the most precious events in people’s lives. From engagements to weddings, and from birth through all the baby’s milestones — our job is to capture moments for people to treasure for a lifetime. And last Friday, I was able to capture the most precious event in a couple’s lives — the birth of their first child. I’ll be leaving the birth pictures for them to share as a family, if they decide to do so. But, let me tell you, it was an incredible experience. And I’m so happy I was able to be there for them. The pictures are breathtaking!

The following day I came back to the hospital for the baby’s Fresh 48 session. She was so sweet and snuggly, and was the perfect subject for me to photograph. OH, and mom and dad were looking amazing just 24 hours after this sweetness came in the world.

Showering Baby Demi Lee | Event

Capturing memories for people is why I am a photographer. You can never have enough pictures, and I’m always so excited to help capture the here and now for people to remember later.

A few weeks ago I was asked to photograph a special little baby shower for a sweet princess to be! When I say it was the perfect shower, it was. I’m so happy I could be a part of their day.

Amanda is a professional ballerina. I mean, Demi Lee has no idea how cool her mommy is, but I’m sure she will find out soon enough! And when I think of a ballerina, I think of a soft, graceful dancer. And today’s shower was just that, soft and graceful!

Enjoy a few of my favorite pictures from the shower. Food was catered by Olexa’s, flowers were designed by CeCe Design LLC, and it was held at The Nest.

Randy, Grace & Colton | Family

Back in the fall, I photographed Randy and Grace for her maternity photo session. We laughed and had a great time, and I couldn’t wait to meet little Colton!

This little guy was born two months ago, and he is so handsome and sweet. We moved from place to place and he was happy as can be! I can’t wait to see him crack a smile soon, and before we know it he will be sitting up by himself! But time, please don’t pass too soon!

The Mendes | Family

This sweet family welcomed their first born just over a week ago. I’m not a “newborn photographer” but, I will do lifestyle sessions with you and your newborn. And it turns out, that’s what Ava and Delio were looking for.

Little Liam is precious, and he was so good. I know Ava and Delio are excited he is here and excited to spend their Christmas with him. I look forward to watching this little one grow up!!

Treat Yourself | Before & After

Being a mother and a photographer, I can tell you exactly what goes through a mom’s brain as soon as she’s booked their family session. Outfits, weather, nap time schedules, the entire family’s cooperation — those are just a few of the things she’s going to stress about before the photo shoot happens. And being a mother, she will put herself last (kid(s) and husband always comes first) and really start to stress when she’s realized she has nothing to wear, her hair is not cooperating and her makeup is the same makeup she’s been wearing for years. (Been there, done that!)

Wouldn’t it be great to show up to your family session with all the confidence in the world? Wouldn’t it be great to know that you are put together and will be looking like a rock star the entire session? During my last session, Krystle took some time right before the session to have her makeup airbrushed by professional, Katie, and had a blow out, too! A blow out in the context of her hair being blown dry and styled. And y’all, she ROCKED their family session. It was HOT, it was dinner time, and there were bugs — but, she looked like she walked off a page from a magazine the entire session. That’s exactly how I want to feel when we take our family photos this year, and I plan on it.

To see exactly what the process looks like, I spent some time with her at SpaOne80 to get an up close and personal look at what goes in to the airbrush experience.

The girls came in with clean faces to start the process. And then Katie began to work her magic. First the eyes, then the airbrushing, and then the final touches!

Wow! I’m a believer, and I’ve already told Katie she needs to put me on her book so I can feel put together during our family session and not worry if my makeup is sweating off!

Take it from this photographer; a mom who comes to their session knowing their hair is as it should be and their makeup is on point, the entire family is relaxed and a good time is had by all!
